I'm very much a creature of habit. In fact, I sometimes wonder if my days are a little too scripted, but how else am I supposed to get everything done? For several weeks, Dan and I have had our weekends jumbled by other events, so it was nice to have this weekend be an ordinary one, filled with my usual activities on their usual days at their usual times.
I want to thank everyone who sent a contribution for Fats' care. He's not out of the woods yet, but he's doing a little better. This was bad timing for his bunny-mom, who depleted her savings on previous bunny emergencies and hadn't yet built her funds back up before this happened. She and I talked about maybe setting up a permanent fund for bunny bloggers when this is all over. No one should have to lose their bunny-pal to a treatable illness or injury just because the financial timing wasn't in their favor.
So here we are, starting another week, and here's Cadbury, inexplicably ignoring his new toy. He's devoured balls like this in the past, so I have no idea why he's pretending like this one is just a nuisance taking up space in his wicker tent. There's no understanding the mind of a rabbit.
Have a great week, everyone!
I think you and Fats' mum had a brilliant idea and would be up to add to this fund for bunny parents in need. We in the UK have a different option of course, as you can have the buns insured and insurance, depending on the type of policy, will cover a lot...I will explain a bit of this in a new post on the blog soon, it's been too long since the last time I wrote but work and life keep one busy, and in the evening there's always quality time for bunnies to be provided - you understand...
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking about Miss Eve - no big changes but at least she's doing binkies and running when out, and that is good (apart from the odd scare...!).
Oh...well, I guess Cadbury is ignoring his ball because maybe right now he wants to show you that you cannot just predict what he will do? Mine do this just to show me that I am far to be an expert in bunny behavioural tactics! :)
LOL! Perhaps Cadbury is just building up energy for a surprise ball attack?
ReplyDeleteGood idea about the bunny blogger fund. I don't think anyone should lose a beloved pet (bunny or other) due to financial reasons. Thank goodness for pet insurance in the UK!
Cadbury is messing with you. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIgnoring a brand new toy that he's always loved in the past, just to be contrary... are you sure he's not actually a cat?
ReplyDeletePet insurance is available in the United States, but the policies I've seen are so expensive that for most pet emergencies, one would do better to simply put the money in a savings account.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea, Pet Health account and it could bring in some interest too. Cadbury is waiting for his ball to age properly. I've seen the Spots do this, they ignore and ignore and then pull the thing into 10,000 pieces.
ReplyDeleteCadbury is just messin' with you! He's waiting until he's alone with that ball.... err, that sounded kinda nasty, didn't it?
ReplyDeleteHef just got one of those for his birthday and he was kind enough to show me a little nibble.
ReplyDeleteThis toys are full of naughty little puns. It has two walnuts inside and I purchased this and a sisal ball together, is that what a male tree looks like?
I also like my laid-back weekends! My parents have been visiting for the past two weeks and I am looking forward to getting my own flow back.
ReplyDeleteMario is like that with toys, too! He devours some wicker in less than a day and other things are just furniture for him.
Cadbury looks so cute sitting in his tent, ignoring his toy. :) And the permanent fund for bunny-bloggers sounds like a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteA free weekend! Whoa ... that is a dandy concept! Many more ...
ReplyDeleteGot to think more on this bynny fund ... mixed feelings.
Maybe Cadbury is saving the ball for Audrey ... I told her current keeper that you guys had spoken for her .....
Cadbury must be trying to throw you off his tracks, bunnies are pro at that!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the bunny fund. Every bunny in need should be helped out :)
We know all about Vet bills- it is going to take me 5 years to pay off Felix's 7-day Hospital stay and surgery!
ReplyDeleteOne of my goals is to hone my crochet/knitting skills so I can auction off goodies to help animals, like the savvy DKM.
