Monday Bunday: Ready!
Here is Cadbury, ready to start another week.
I'm ready, too, and curious to see how my new schedule works out. In addition to my upcoming two-week vacation, I have another 44 hours of vacation leave that I have to use up somehow, or else I lose it at the end of the fiscal year. Working for the state is funny like that.
I didn't much care how I got to use my hours, as long as I got them, so my boss and I agreed I would come in an hour later three days per week. This will allow me to do slightly longer workouts in the mornings and/or sleep in a little longer. This will also allow me to start swimming again, if pollen season ever ends. (It will end, right? I've been dealing with this since February!)
So I'm looking forward to trying out my new schedule, and hoping it makes me a healthier, happier person. Paid time off from work is a good thing, no matter when you get it.

Working out before work sounds great :) Work doesn't leave me with enough time for exercise on weekdays. And it's interesting that you get leave on an hourly basis.. here, ours are on a daily basis and we were recently informed that we can't take 1/2 day leaves anymore. Its full day or nothing.. not very happy with that!
Nose rubs to Cadbury!
and amen to that last sentence. a BIG ONE.
Yay for the later sleep and longer workout. I'd love to be able to come in earlier and leave earlier, but we're kind of rigid. We are fortunate that we can roll our leave time from year to year, so I have a good bit amassed. What are you going to do for your vacation?
Sounds like a great schedule. Our fiscal year ends August 31st, so I have plenty of time to take the vacation in the summer. Enjoy!
furrybutts: The State of Texas gives paid vacation hours and paid sick leave hours on a monthly basis, and the number of hours is related to how long you've worked for the state. I currently accrue 11 hours apiece of sick and vacation time each month.
Glenna: I can roll over 292 hours each year, but I'm so far over that even with a 10-day vacation, I have to burn an additional 44 hours.
Dan and I are going to New Mexico and Colorado again, late May/early June.
Good way to use of the time off. Smart idea you had.
Sometimes that extra hour is all we need in a day.
Agreed! I had 23 days left that I had to take. Luckily we came to an arrangement where I took some and carried some over! Enjoy your lie in/extended work out.
Cute pic of Cadbury :)
Happier and healthier is always the way to go; best wishes for that! Cadbury certainly looks happy and healthy.
Extra sleep, oooh I remember extra sleep, very jealous! Hopefully it won't interfer with Cadbury's schedule.
Cadbury does not look so enthusiastic that it is Monday!
Your new schedule sounds like a win-win situation!!

Paid time off is always great! Sounds like you worked out a very good deal.
That sounds like an excellent way to use your time off. And Cadbury looks ready and rarin to go for a new week! :)
More time for Cadbury!
If I had one more hour per day I'ld probably just loaf it away!
Are ya going back to Wolf Creek Pass and downtown Pagosa Springs??
RG, we definitely have Pagosa Springs on our list. It's a charming town, and priced just right for doing two or three times the amount of self-indulgent stuff that I could afford at a trendier place.
Vacation? Time off? These words...they sound familiar somehow...
Enjoy your vacation!!! Looks like Cadbury is packed and ready to get out of town!
Good luck with yur new sckedule, Auntie Bunnygurl! And Cadbury, soul brutha, you're the BUN MAN!
