Tidbit Update

Thanks again to all who have stopped by to wish my bunny well!

I brought her home today and she was certainly much more alert than before. She had to "tour" her room and check that everything was in its proper place, and then she settled in for a little alone-time, which is typical behavior when she returns home from a vet visit.

Since coming home she has yet to use her litter box, which has me concerned, although they said at the vet she was generating a lot of "output," so perhaps there just isn't much in there right now.

She's still off her feed. Normally she would spend most of the evening with her face buried in her hay, but instead she only nibbles the occasional little bit and does her best eating when Dan is on the floor with her, feeding her strand by strand. She did drink a lot of water, though, which is encouraging. And although she grunted and ran away from me when I tried to give her the mineral oil, I was able to dip her favorite greens in it and fed it to her that way.

Salad dressing and hand-feeding. Someone thinks she's royalty!

We'll be monitoring the situation closely. We were hoping to leave town on Friday but if she's not aggressively eating on her own, we'll just have to find other things to do with our vacation. We're willing to vacation locally if we must.

As Tid's health improves, she'll be hopping by to visit all the kind humans, felines, bunnies, and other folks who have wished her well. But for tonight, no computer for Princess. Next thing you know, she'll expect us to peel her a grape!

We've crossed everything we have to cross here at The House of Rabbits!

We've done a fair amount of back-yard vacationing too! Hey .. you could plant some tomatoes in big boxes!

Oh what a wonderful report. Is it just the settling back into the routine that is slowing her eating? I hope so. And she is definitely royalty in my book.

I am so glad for you and will continue to pray for a speedy recovery and the opportunity for you to vacation worry free. Keep getting well little Tid - we love you gobs.

I'm so glad to hear Tidbit is back home, resting, and demanding all of the spoiling and attention she deserves. I really hope she starts to eating and poop regularly again, so you and Dan can go ahead and enjoy your holiday away. You're all in my thoughts.

Awww, what a cute bunny princess pic! Hope Tidbit gets better.
What, you mean you aren't supposed to peel grapes for your pets?

Yay, Tid! Eat your hay, girlie, and do lots of poopin'! Maybe she heard your vacation plans and decided she didn't want you to go?

Yay Tidbit! Now do lots of pooing and eat plenty :)
Peeled grapes are a MUST for bunnies, and so are fresh strawberries...soon it's Wimbledon time and what would we be without strawberries for the buns, huh?
Btw, Hugo says you look so pretty in pink and you have a wonderful dewlap, but do not tell to Miss Eve...she's got only a tiny one and would be a bit put off by the comparison... ;-)
Get well soon, Tid girl! We're crossing everything for you too, but we cannot compete with the amount of long limbs and ears at the House of Rabbits :)))

Get well little Tid!

Lets hope being home will give the Tid a psychological boost that will get her eating and get her system back on track.

Spoiling sick pets is an extremely sensible thing to do! So we won't laugh if you end up peeling those grapes.

How is that girlie doing? Does she like unsweetened canned pumpkin? That can be great for getting the system going, it has enough fiber in it that if they aren't keeping up with hay consumption bowels still move. Big Bandit lived for years not eating hay and loving pumpkin. Eat up Tidbit.

we're still purring and praying here for her quick recovery. you just need to eat all that good food Tidbit...but you know, this is a good opportunity to get those grapes peeled for you.
you just eat up and get that bunny energy going strong.
